The first ad was very inspiring with the amount of pathos used and the display of brotherhood.
ReplyDeleteI think that the above the influence one affected me more, because it targets teens. Everyone makes their own choices, and with one mistake, you could lose everything.
ReplyDeleteThe Chrysler commercial always gets me mainly because of the song. Whether you are a fan of rap/hip-hop or not, Lose Yourself by Eminem is well inspiring song that goes along with the revelation of the rebirth of car production in Detroit they try to display. It's a compilation of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIn the army advertisement, there was an excessive use of pathos which could persuade some people to join the army.
ReplyDeleteContrary to Nick Bakini's beliefs, that Chrysler commercial always makes me believe that the American Engineered Cars are of inferior quality. The Song by Eminem makes me never want to buy a Chrysler. It's a mash of trash.
ReplyDeleteI think that the army advertisement used pathos well to inspire people to join, because it gave the viewer the sense that everyone in the army was very proud to be a part of it.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the Chrysler used Eminem, the commercial was not effective. The advertisement never says a thing about the new car they are trying to sell and the props it has over other new cars.
ReplyDeleteIn Symbol of Strength, the amount of patriotism and pride is very appealing and inspiring to the viewer through the amount of pathos it used.
ReplyDeleteSymbol of Strength, used pathos to inspire people. It shows that if you are in the Army, you can be apart of something bigger, and make a difference. I think that this is particularly inspiring to young adults who may feel lost and don't know where they are going in life just yet.
ReplyDeleteAbove the Influence. I feel that this ad really focuses on "Pathos" and makes you not want to drink underage and feel bad for those that do.
ReplyDeleteI think that the Above The Influence Add and its strong use of pathos shows how the girls experience may remind teens of the consequences that bad decsions may have.
ReplyDeleteI thought that the chrysler commercial was affective because they told a story of who they are and where they came from and I thought that it was different and unique commercial than what most car companies display and so I thought it was affective from the message that they were sending and the pathos used I thought drew a connection to the public eye and make them interested in the Chrysler brand and from this commercial I thought it was a great way to market their brand as a car company and show people who they are and what they do and that is making luxury cars!
ReplyDeleteI think the ad that I thought sold their idea the best was the u.s. army commercial. The intensity of the film drew me in throughout the whole time. Pathos was definitely used showing action of the soldiers, what you can do to help others, how you are seen to others, and the respect you get out of it.

I think that the Above The Influence Add is a strong use of pathos and it shows how drinking can destroy your future.
ReplyDeleteI feel that the Above The Influence ad is a strong use of pathos. It shows you what can happen if you drink and how it can affect your future. It is highly effective because it is directed toward teens.
ReplyDeleteThe army recruitment Ad really effectively used Pathos and made you feel that being with them made you a stronger and better individual.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Above the Influence Commercial, their adds are always intriguing and effective.
ReplyDeleteThe Above the Influence ad is most effective in my point of view because it is easiest to connect with. The use of pathos really makes the commercial realistic. Emily Lanigan
ReplyDeleteI think the Above the Influence ad got their point across the best with the powerful use of pathos. It is directly related to teens, which makes it more effective because we can relate to it.
ReplyDeleteI thought The Above the Influence ad was the most effective because it was directed toward teens. They used pathos very well and showed how drinking and drugs can destroy your past and changed your future.
ReplyDeletei had this assignment posted on time... but for some reason the internet hates me soooo... As everyone else has said the author is obviously against violence, he is even one of the few people to defend Lindsey Lohan. He compares bothering Lindsey Lohan is like war that she has obivously lost so why prolong the torment by having the papparazi follow her everywhere the author says,"I suggest we declare the war against Lindsay Lohan is won, withdraw our troops, and leave her alone."

my comment above goes to the other ad assignment.... again this website really doesn't like me. I used the above the influence ad. The company wants to show you how abusive. substances can effect your life by using slippery slope. drinking=your life is going down the toilet is obviously a metaphor showing you will loose your friends and everything you worked for, it wont literally go down the toilet.
